She's Baaaaaa-aaaaack!

All good things must come to an end... After 35 wonderful days up in the country with my family I am now back in Suburbia once again. Whoopee.

I've done some minor cosmetic work to the site, things that needed to be done. There will be a lot more happening quickly now that I'm back and the whole MT issue is resolved, this was just the start of it.

I've deleted twenty-four (24) blogs from the system, they are listed in the extended entry below (the "continue reading..." link), those of you running blogrolls might want to check it. These are blogs that have sat for a minimum of three (3) months with no posts at all. As I have said before, if there is so much as one in-character post, I will not delete the blog. Blogs that sit for that long of a period of time with zero activity are not blogs anyone cares about and only take up space and resources on the server. Any deleted blog can be re-created as a new blog if the author wishes to re-request a blog, as a new blog. Deletion of blogs also means deletion of the author's @blogsofroleplay.com email address.

Also, for a long time small things have been bothering me about the look of this place. The Alphabetical List of Blog graphics was one thing that sat quietly in the back of my head bothering me. The graphics were not the same size, they didn't line up perfectly and (horrors!) they were not even all the same colour. Things like that bother the (anal?) detail-oriented person in me. So instead of just re-doing the graphics for the new blogs made upstate with the correct font, I have re-made each and every graphic in the entire list, letter by letter. I am pleased as punch to say that now all the listings in the alphabetical list are the same colour and size and they all line up. Woo! Viva la aesthetic pleasure!

I'd also like the thank Kelly of the Voices Blog for taking the time to make three (3) very pithy looking little buttons for the site I will be adding to the BoRCom Buttons and Banners link for you people to stick on your blogs or websites. Thanks, Kel!

I believe that's all for now, of course I have a million ideas zipping through my head all at once but for the moment this is what I have. Hope I didn't delete anyone by accident (doy doy) and here's to things happening quickly and efficiently around here!

The Elf Crew sends their love.

Many Thanks!

The Elf Crew and I would like to raise our mugs of ale in appreciation of and say thank you to Shadow Siege MUD for their donation! Cheers and thank you, Shadow Siege MUD!

Those of you unfamiliar with the Shadow Siege crew, it is this muse's strong recommendation that you take the time to read the blogs, they're usually atop the Recently Updated List. These folks have got it goin' on.

Thank you Mina, thank you Cernunnos.

Updatey Type Stuff!

Greetings, Bloggers!

Just a few things here. Once again I offer apologies to the five new blogs I just created, one as old as four days. I am still up at my parents and have really been enjoying the first 'vacation' I've had since Christmas. I've been a bit remiss on the creation of the new blogs but as of this posting, all are complete.

I will also be back home as of Friday so my first priority there will be the much awaited upgrade to MT 3.0D. Woo! Good juju.

Since we're 11 days into July I have held off on a Blog of the Month although I already know who August will be. I have a pithy little graphic I made but it's a tad large and I'm not a graphics expert so hopefully I'll have those sent to those of you who got BotM for January-May.

Now for a bit of unpleasantness. You might have noticed that the link to Hero Machine has been removed. Seems I awoke on the Fourth of July to a rather rude email from the Hero Machine people telling me in rude terms that I had a running copy of Hero Machine on the site and I was not allowed to do this and he named a company I will NOT support by quoting as the only authorised people allowed to offer Hero Machine. Yes, I did pay for my copy and would have paid more for a site-wide license but I was really put off by the attitude of the email. Theirs is not the only character generator out there and I will find a better one with less attitude. Now we at BoRCom in no way ask that any of you avoid Hero Machine but we offer the truth and let you decide for yourselves. Just a wee bit of unpleasantry and greed.

I'd also like to take a moment to thank Justin very much for his donation, it was appreciated and as soon as I get with you on whether or not you want your link published, I'd love to add you to the BoRCom sponsors. Donations are as always welcome and go right to the cost of upkeep for the site but they are in no way necessary.

To those of you new and even to those of you old, I want now to offer another opportunity for free advertising for your website / game. If you have a game you play on, work on or run then we offer you a place to put your banner on our "BoRCom Affiliates" section of the Main Index Blog. I'd also like to start putting together the "BoRCom Member Sites" section off the Grand Grimoire and that link can be any sort of website, not specifically game-related. If you would like to put your website/game on either or both of the sections, please send me an email with your information. I believe that word of mouth on the internet is still the best way to get noticed and I'd be happy to help bring publicity to your site.

I was asked this as well so I answer.. The "BoRCom Benefactor List" is a special place we save for those who have donated. Along with the banner we offer a page for the donor to advertise/explain/promote their website. Or rather, this too is in the working, I really wish I had help on this sometimes but for those of you who have been around a while, I do ok.

One more thing. I'm sure most of you have seen those sort of formatted looking buttons all over everyone's blogs. The small rectangular buttons that people are using all over because they're small and uniform. If anyone would be so kind as to make a few for this site, I'd be most appreciative. It's one of those things I'd love to do and will do but I'm so behind in the to-do list. So I ask, if any of you enjoy making those pithy little buttons, I'd be one very happy Resident Muse.

And with this all said, I shall end this update and hope at least 5 of you read it. *grins* Hope you're all having a great Summer in this side of the world and a great time of year whatever it is wherever you are!

Blog on!
