The cataclysm which shook the realms long ago had far reaching effects. The explosion of Mount Kurgan disrupted the environ to such an extent that the polar regions were upheaved, changed... a new mountain range was borne, glacial masses formed. But still, the chaos of the event was not appeased, for within the Sands a great storm, a storm as none have seen, came to be, causing the air to be filled with sediments, the wind howling with a strength and bite that could strip the flesh from bone. It is only now, with the return of Order that the storm has settled revealing a long buried pyramid, lost to antiquity. What mysteries surround this edifice, who put it there, what is inside.

Hints: This area is full of portals, locked doors, and clues in room desc. I suggest you pay attention. When entering the area, pay close attention to the picture of the pyramid, it shows you how to enter the thing.

Many will notice that some clans are getting their new clan halls. (Ninth Circle, Keepers of the Prism, Tabernacle of Forgotten Lore, Crusaders of the Redeeming Inquisition, Stygian Temple)
In order to make the job much easier/faster for your clan builders, please take the time to post to your clan blog with any of the following information:
1.) One potion shop... give at least 20 potions/pills you would like to see in your shop, with their possible new name, color strings.
2.) One eq shop... give at least 20 pieces of equipment you would like to see in your shop, with their new name, color strings.
3.) Possible mobile names, characters, etc.
4.) Rooms you would like to see made.
This is your chance to participate in the long-standing creation of a hall, something that pretty much stands the test of time on the game. Take the time to consider what you would like to see in your halls, and post it to your clan blog for reference by the immortals.
I have moved the area known as Isle of Misfit Toys/Christmas Town (yes, contrary to some rumors, they are the same place/area) away from the ice bat cave (in the eastern sector of the realms) and have placed it in its new home in the polar reaches of the northern sector of the realms.
Adventuresome trailblazers will find the way to this area by going out the Northern gate of Kjeldoran, searching through Mirkwood forest for the entrance to the Inland Sea, and crossing its icy waters to the shores of the far polar continent.
Additionally, a means to reach the Isle of Misfit Toys (the island of the name, not the area) is hidden within the depths of Wyntregloom, for those that can solve the problem and tap into its power.
The Kjeldoran maps shall be changed in the coming week to illustrate the new locations of Isle of Misfit Toys and the new area of Wyntregloom.
(The bird likes the snow, hence the polar loveliness of it all. REVEL in the snow i say... REVEL!)
A cataclysmic eruption shakes the realms. The sky fills with ash and burning cinder, darkening into the depths of lightless night. Far to the south, Mount Kurgan explodes violently, destroyed, the land surrounding it is upheaved, broken. Viscuous polar winds seize the land, encapsulating the area in ice. The remnants of the chaotic energy mutates all life within the confines of the order sphere. None escape. What has happened.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
I would like to announce the opening of a new area in Time of Darkness.
The Temple of Fiends is now open!!!
This area is inspired by the original Final Fantasy game, and has something for all levels. However, those lower level characters will want to tread VERY carefully, don't get too deep in the area without being prepared.
The area is mprog intensive, and I consider it in beta testing mode, so should you notice anything out of the ordinary inform me about it.
Have fun with the area, and best of luck to adventurers, you'll need it to discover the truth and the history of the Temple of Fiends.
Your wonderful and ever toiling immortals bring you the first in a series of new areas that are soon opening... seek ye out the Village of Rime now, for it is open for your use.
You will have to be dilligent and alert in your search to find the entrance to the vale of the village, it isn't going to be simple to find.
Rime is meant to be used as a neutral alignment levelling area, and a minor town with shops. There is also one Hero run available to those that put forth the effort of finding the key to getting access to it.
