Time of Darkness is pleased to announce the following changes in code:

**Months of the year have been changed and now reflect our Immortals. Along with adding a sense of realism, this will be an important factor for werewolves (THEREWOLVES) down the road.

**The weather can hurt you! Meathe has created a wonderful weather system that can do damage to players standing in weather-impacted rooms (which should be all of outdoors but that will take some time). Weather damage is HP based so while it may be painful, no one is going to die from a bolt of lightning alone.

The new weather system will also work with the Control Weather spell, which until now has been pretty useless. We'll be fine tuning this for players, right now it's a very low change in weather but those of you who have gained Control Weather and later wondered why, we give you weather.

**Equipment Corrosion - I love this one! Once again Meathe has done an amazing job and now your equipment can corrode and unless repaired, corrode away to nothing. WOO! WOO WOO!

Not all equipment will corrode, we're not heartless.

Corrosion can come from either time, certain damage types and weather so be careful and keep an eye on your eq.

All corroding items will have enough time before they rot for you to get to a repair mob and fix the damage. Repair will not be expensive, this is not an attempt on our part to watch you lose eq. There will be a repair mob in Kjeldoran and clans may purchase one for their halls.

You will know if your item is corroding, you will see messages letting you know.

Change to Safedeath

We have been pushed too far by the abusers of safedeath so there have been some changes to it.

You might not like the changes but had we not been forced to act as babysitters because people just could not stop abusing safedeath it would not have had to be done.

Levelers are not impacted by this, we've left the levelers alone.

Safedeath will now render you silent for one tick and blind and useless for two ticks.

This means it now matters where you log out, please be careful. This will help with dumbasses who log out to avoid PK.

People will no longer be able to log an alt and loot a corpse with safedeath.

The severity of safedeath is open to be changed in time, for the moment the entire staff is tired of abusers so it stays like this for a bit.

Changes!

Yes, I have seal speed and skittles!

Some info xxx'd out to protect the clan's privacy.

**Infernal no longer gets pseudo-shadow, it is now xxxxxxxx
**Aura of god now functions in a similar fashion to xxxxxxxx
**Aura of god and xxxx may not be cast over each other (with the exception of clan spells).
**Additional xxxxx affects corrected for:Infernal, Den, Ninth - These unintentionally stripped some affects when adding further ones.
**Clan warnings: The logic producing spurious warnings when someone tried to teleport in to a hall have been recoded and are now correct. They never actually did make it into the hall.
**Saving throws added for Silence, Paralyze, Petrify. These will now also not work on anyone/thing immune to magic.
**Minor cosmetic tweaks to the affects display.

**Typos in OTS spell corrected
**Bleed on clan list corrected
**Wiznet message for 5 clan stones on an altar
**Bad altars now reset the stone count (safeguard)
**Tabernacle clan spell corrected
**New spells: Paralyze, petrify, silence
**Quest items: paralyze, petrify, silence flags now work in play
**OLC fixed for clan donation pits (was unavailable)
**Room2 and room3 flags changed: They are now Race and Class flags respectively. Room2 to be re-added at a later date. No existing flags were harmed in the alterations to this code.
**Clan vnums now corrected for Dominion.
**Jail corrected for Infernal (again and again)
**Wizslap message added for Dulthail ("Dulthail wizslaps you. Yes, we know your grandmother hit harder, but try make him feel it was effective.")
**Removing an altar from play (purge, logout with it in inventory, eating) will now end a clan spell.
**Blade barrier crash bug removed.
**Immortals no longer contribute to clan PK counts.
**Entering a clan other than your own will remove safe death.

Changes!

Senor Seal has been uber busy, please take the time to give him an extra fish and a toss him a ball when you see him!

Bugfixes and alterations:

**Exodus vision removed (well secluded, he sees all)
**Wizslap customisations for Meathe and Ackmon.
**Ahriman's clan spell text added
**noteleport room flag now stops portal devices from entering that room
**Thoth has been replaced with Morakai
**Clan alignments are now correct. Evil clans are tagged as very ebil, neutral clans are neutral, good clans are good.

New command: clanmembers

This command will, by default list all the members in your clan, sorted alphabetically, indicating the leaders in red. If you are not in a clan and are under level 102, you don't get the command.

Immortals also have the option of obtaining any clan's membership list by typing: clanmembers

Immortals over level 107 have the additional option of using clanmembers rebuild

This will go through every pfile and reconstruct the lists of clan members. It will take a few seconds and lag the mud, and chew about 10% of server resources. It only needs to be done if the clan member count or the members of a clan in the clan lists are incomplete. Please use sparingly - you really shouldn't have to use it at all.

CLAN LIST and Clan pk rankings

This command has been fixed. It will display the correct leaders (only once
each) and the correct member counts.

Pk rankings now include statistics for loners as well as NPK clans. Between war, hall raids and switch pk, NPKs may now indulge in the occasional combat. These will be reset to 0 for the first reboot, as there is no way of fairly putting in numbers. They are saved, and will be loaded on all future reboots These statistics will be kept up to date by the code.

DECLAN now updates the clan-members correctly, as does DELETE, ANNIHILATE,
RENAME, MEMBER ACCEPT. Rename will now retain clan leader status, as it was
lost before.

QUEST WEAPONS

These are implemented for building.
The quest weapon flags are in WTYPE, and they are:

Charm - Chance of charming target, will stop combat
Curse - Chance of curse
Dehydration - Makes target thirsty, -2 dex (shows as curse on affs)
Gravity - Adds fly to wielder
Hunger - Makes target hungry, -2 dex (shows as curse on affs)
* Paralyze - Chance of immobilizing opponent
* Petrify - Chance of turning opponent to stone
Shadow - Adds shadow to wielder
* Silence - Slight chance of silence spell
Sleep - Chance to make opponent sleep
Drain - Leeches mana in the same way a vampiric leeches hits
Phase - Chance of phasing out of an attack
* Etch - Acidic damage
Disrupt - Chance of driving down intelligence
Weak - Chance of weakening opponent
Banish - Chance of teleporting opponent
Cutpurse - Chance of stealing between 1-5% of the opponent's platinum
Dispel - Chance of cancelling spells, chance based on item level
Vulnerable - Chance of adding 50 to saves of opponent

Items marked with a * require further spells or coding to be added and cannot be tested in play.

The ones that show as curse (hunger, dehydration, etc) do not exclude other curses. So you may be affected by multiple curse types simultaneously, a dehydration/-2dex curse, a hunger/-2dex curse, etc. You will never be able to be affected by multiple dehydration curses concomitantly.

After a brief period of stagnation and questionable juju, we are once again up and on the move.

Running List of Changes Done

Greetings, Mudtards-

I want to keep a running list of all the code changes done here so you all can have some sort of reference when you tell us we're not doing anything. Doy doy.
